Jin Lee
Ms. Lee has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience. She has structured and closed over $5 billion of debt and equity, including loan originations, loan restructuring and sales of non-performing loans. She has worked for both large financial institutions and in small, highly entrepreneurial environments.

Ms. Lee is the principal and founder of Royalton Capital, which provides real estate loan restructuring advice and strategic execution as well as asset management and disposition services to financial institutions, principals, and private equity funds. Royalton’s clients include a large European financial institution.

In 2002, Ms. Lee joined Manchester Real Estate and Construction, LLC as Chief Investment Officer to focus on opportunistic debt and equity real estate investments. Ms. Lee directed all aspects of debt and equity investment projects, including origination, underwriting, arranging for equity and debt capital and strategic asset management. Ms. Lee managed all aspects of the Manhattan House joint venture redevelopment project, a 1 million square foot residential property acquired from New York Life Insurance Company.

Prior to Manchester, Ms. Lee was Senior Vice President of GECC Capital Markets Group, Inc. At GE Capital, she dealt with senior bankers at domestic and foreign institutions to structure, price and close over $4 billion in commercial real estate loans, which were successfully syndicated to a wide range of domestic and foreign financial institutions.

Ms. Lee’s real estate career was launched at Chemical Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) in the real estate group initially as an Associate/Account Officer in the New York City Group and then as Vice President of the workout group. As a workout officer, Ms. Lee negotiated highly complex transactions with the principals of major real estate projects including the Ansonia Condominium. Ms. Lee restructured failed co-op conversions, new condominium constructions and office, retail, hotel, and mixed-use development projects.

Following her work at Chemical Bank, Ms. Lee served as a principal of Royalton Capital. At Royalton, she actively acquired properties and represented both borrowers and financial institutions in restructuring, foreclosing, or selling of defaulted loans. Clients who sought Ms. Lee’s transactional experience included Apple Bank for Savings, for whom she successfully recommended and executed workout strategies of over $500 million in REOs and non-performing loans. She also managed litigation on behalf of Apple Bank for these loans. From Royalton, Ms. Lee joined Cushman & Wakefield as Director in the Financial Services Group, where she gained investment sales and brokerage experience.

An active participant in the New York real estate business community, Ms. Lee served on the Real Estate Advisory Committee (REAC) of New York State Common Retirement Fund, a $153 billion pension plan for the state and local government employees. Ms. Lee also served as the President and a board member of WX, an invitation-only organization comprised of 120 senior women in key New York real estate organizations.

Ms. Lee received her B.A. in Architecture from Princeton University and her M.B. A. from Columbia University.
